Stoke fans have flocked from all over these past couple of days to get their tickets and secure a seat ahead of the migration 'dahwn saahf` ('down south` for non-cockney idiolect readers), to the home of football… again. It is of course for the glorious FA Cup, but this time it`s for the much anticipated Final against the blue side of Manchester.
Platinum Plus, Platinum and Potters Foundation members (with season-tickets) rapped up and camped out on Sunday night so that they could wake up at the crack of dawn, ready for the mad rush. Just like for the Semi-Final, they were queuing to queue, as you collected your number and then wait for your number to be called so that you could purchase your season tickets. All well and good if you`re rapped up like an onion and have a Stoke City book or Season Review DVD to entertain yourself with.
Stoke City FC have confirmed the club have already sold 3,000 tickets, in only one day of tickets going on sale. Meanwhile, the rest of the 21,000 season-ticket holders have been seeking their tickets today. Any remaining tickets for the City end will go on sale on Thursday morning to Silver members and Potters Foundation members, who are not season ticket-holders (don`t hold your breath).
Some tickets will be reserved for overseas supporters, although Stoke are having to cut back because their total allocation is 9,000 short of the number they received for the Bolton semi-final. Corporates… enough said.
Local radio stations have been following the journeys of some supporters and, get this; foreign TV reporters have been lurking round the Britannia to report back to Europe. Grandad was interviewed by one so will now be internationally recognized (as the Stoke fan in the flat cap and big paint-splattered glasses).
I`ve got my ticket but the question is, have you? Time is running out so get yourselves down to the ground and get yourself a seat for one of the biggest events around!
