Fuller`s Strike at Spurs Fan

Fuller`s Strike at Spurs Fan

Ricardo Fuller could be facing a match ban after confronting a hotheaded fan during Tottenham`s 3-2 win over Stoke City.

The Jamaican striker grabbed a Spurs fan by the neck in the closing moments after receiving some foul mouthed abuse. Once the FA see referee Kevin Friend`s report along with the photographic evidence today, Fuller will be likely to be punished with a couple of match bans, especially as he physically confronted the Spurs fan.

Fuller, who currently is the 'super-sub` of the team, has been a marvelous impact and useful asset to the club, but has always had the underlining temperament issue that occasionally surfaces.

If a couple of match bans is the outcome, then it would be a huge blow to Stoke`s campaign in the FA Cup clash at Wembley next weekend.

Meanwhile Tottenham defender Vedran Corluka had to be held back by the assistant manager Kevin Bond after confronting one of his own supporters.

Some Tottenham fans had mocked Corluka for giving Stoke the chance to equalise by putting a free-kick out of play in stoppage time. Corluka immediately responded by running over to scream at them in Croatian 'like a man possessed`, a fan claimed.

Corluka said: 'I told one supporter he was an idiot. He was moaning during the match when he should have been supporting the team. I told him to support instead of criticising.`

Focusing back on Fuller; it was a stupid thing to do. Everywhere a player goes they will receive some kind of 'criticisms` i.e. abuse, but it`s something to shrug off and think what an absolute door knob. When you get physical and let yourself get wound up by some ridiculous comments or taunts then you land yourself in trouble. Which is exactly what Ric did.

The FA will have a look at the incident today and make their decision soon, but I just hope that whatever they decide, it won`t jeopardize his place in the FA Cup Semi-Final.

What is the point of this website? No one ever comments on your articles... do your fans have computers? This website is as pointless as your team - god I hate Stoke! (Mainly because you have Shawcross when I think about it, I actually don't think I'd hate you if you took him out back and put him down)! - I doubt anyone will see this comment anyway judging by your previous responses to articles!

Me neither, i actually like stoke at least they are honest about mainly being a long ball team, why do you hate shawcross, he is a good player and if its to do with him breaking ramseys leg, get over it, it was an accident and i could actually see shawcross captaining england one day.

More support from a Spurs fan here. It is teams like Stoke that help keep the Premiership interesting. Look at La Liga - incredibly boring because Barca & Real go everywhere else and win easy. The big teams in England hate going to Stoke. The LOUD fans, the hard working players, the manager. They do also play some decent football. Just because they have a long throw (which we use from Gareth Bale), people tar them as a long-ball team. They are properly run, like us - no debt and live within their means, and look like staying up comfortably.

I do not understand why people are always having a go at Stoke's style of play. If any of them actually watched any of stokes games they would see in my opinion the two best english wingers in the premership. Yes we use the long throw of Rory Delap but so would Alex Fergurson if any of his players could throw it that well. Yes we use set pieces well but last time I looked it was not against the rules. We are more than just a long ball side. Did you see the goal Mathew Etherington Scored against Spurs. We look like we are safe for this year and we are in the Semi final of the FA cup. I can only presume that the people who knock Stoke are Just Jealous.

I'm a Stoke fan and how dare you come on here and question our team and our website. The more important question is why do you bother wasting your time putting hateful comments about us, do you not have a life? We are a team and have a rightful place in this league so try removing your impaled head from out of your arse and clean out your mouth because what you have just wrote in essence is a load of cr@p. We are Stoke and we play how we like. We have the loudest fans in the country and we're enjoying ourselves in the top flight. We are hard workers and deserve success for all the effort we put in. We are underdogs with a success story and long may it continue. Now do us a favour and sod off and find something better to do with your time.
