Carew is staying at home

Stoke's loan striker, John Carew will not be joining his Norwegian team mates as he continues to recover from a back problem.

Carew missed both the cup win over West Ham and last weekend's thrashing of Newcastle United and has now said that he will not available for their Euro 2012 qualifier against the Danes on Saturday.

That's good news for Stoke as it gives him another week to try and get fit for the important visit of Chelsea to the Brit in just over ten days time.
