Francis off...Gallagher on?

Wigan midfielder Damien Francis has rejected the chance to move to The Potters for a second time-as he wants to stay in The Premiership.
The 27-year old former Wimbledon and Norwich midfielder turned down a move to Stoke 2 years ago following last minute interest from would be Champions Norwich City. Stoke boss Tony Pulis is a known admirer of the out-of-favour Latics midfielder, however he will have to turn his attention elsewhere following Francis' latest Stoke snub.
There is better news for the Potters boss concerning former Blackburn loanee Paul Gallagher. The young Scottish striker was a popular figure during his season long loan spell last year, scoring 12 goals, including a face saving equaliser against Tamworth in the FA Cup. Signed by former manager Johan Boskamp, Pulis kept tabs on Gallagher during his stay and is keen to bring him back to the Potteries.
Gallagher is eager to prove his worth at Blackburn, however recent signings Francis Jeffers and Jason Roberts mean Gallagher is unlikely to become a regular starter, and Pulis is ready to pounce, likely to be another season long loan.

Francis is a good player, when he turns up. There is a 'background' to his leaving Norwich, and it had little to do with his wanting to be a Premiership player. Due to threats of legal action it isn't possible to go into detail; suffice it to say that the fractured cheek bone that he sustained whilst at Norwich was no 'accident'. Many of us at Norwich felt that we might have survived in the Premiership if Francis bothered himself to put in a performance when we got trounced by Fulham on the final day of the season, where one point would have seen Norwich survive. He can be good, he can also be invisible; but he has a massive ego and even though he hardly figured for Wigan last season, he thinks he is above playing at a lower level. You haven't necessarily lost out by not getting him.

"Gerrim back" was re Gallagher not Francis. Not that i rate Francis that highly anyway.
