Pugh pens new deal

Stoke`s versatile midfielder Danny Pugh has signed a contract extension until the end of 2013. The 28 year-old has spent the last month on loan at Preston with Michael Tonge, and Tony Pulis has allowed the pair to extend their stay for another month, and awarded Pugh a new deal.

The popular Pugh has struggled to make the 18 man squad`s for the Potters in the Premier League this term and has mainly had to settle for Carling Cup appearances. But Pulis truly values the former Manchester United player and is happy he is committed to staying at the Britannia.

"It is important that we look after the players who helped to start off what we have achieved over the past three years, and Danny is one of them" He told the official site. "He is an excellent professional and every club needs players with his qualities who can be relied upon to come in and do a good job if required".

The likelihood that Pugh will see out the remaining three years of his contract isnt so great if he cant manage to force his way back into the match day squad. But his extension is definitely a reward for his strong loyalty, but we may not see him play again until the 4th round of the FA Cup should Stoke get past Cardiff and avoid
