Potters sign Pericard

Portsmouth striker, Vincent Pericard is Tony Pulis' first signing for Stoke City

Pericard, who impressed on a loan spell at Plymouth last season was about to sign permanently for Argyle but has decided to follow Tony Pulis to the Potteries instead. The 23 year old Frenchman scored 4 goals from 15 appearances during his time at Home Park.

Pericard is free after leaving Portsmouth and Pulis thinks that he will be an asset up front: 'He's pretty big and strong, but also skilful around his feet.
'He would be a good addition to the squad and we'll have time to get him fitter than he was for me at Plymouth.'

Reports are also linking us to another Argyle player, midfielder Tony Capaldi. He still has another year left on his contract but Pulis seems to be ready to make a move for the 25 year old Northern Ireland international.

Pericard may be a decent player, but he doesn't score. You'd be better off without him

Pericard can score goals and proved that in our championship season. The lad was out for over a year with a very bad injury and is now starting to get himself back fit. He's big and holds the ball up well, and i'm sure he will be a fantastic signing for you once he gets his confidence back.
