Pompey crash could bring loan trio back to Stoke

Pompey crash could bring loan trio back to Stoke

With reports that Portsmouth could be heading for liquidation and oblivion it could mean that three Potters players will end up back at the Brit.

Carl Dickinson, Ibrahima Sonko and Liam Lawrence are all out on loan at the south coast club amid reports that the Administrators are ready to pull the plug on Pompey.

If the unthinkable happens, the luckiest player will be Liam. His permanent move to Pompey on the last day of the transfer window collapsed after the paperwork failed to go through in time but both clubs then agreed a loan move until another deal could be finalised in January.

One player whose future will not be so secure is Dave Kitson, even though both moved at the same time, Kitson's deal beat the deadline and so he'd be out of a job.

So for both the players' and fans' sake we hope that this situation can be avoided and that the club will survive this latest crisis so that 112 years of football history at Fratton Park doesn't come to an abrupt, ignominious end.

Is that all you can say? A very traditional football club is on the brink of extinction and you say, oh well, we might get some players back?
