Faye and Whelan sweat on injuries

Skipper Abdoulaye Faye and Irishman Glenn Whelan are doubts for the Potters opening Premier League match away at Wolves next Saturday.

Whelan will definitely miss Irelands match against Argentina in mid week due to a calf injury but is optimistic over his chances of being at Molineux.

"Although it felt really bad at the time, it has eased off".

Faye limped out of Stoke`s 2-1 pre-season win over Bristol Rovers last night with a Hamstring injury and we hope that it was just a precaution replacing him. However Pulis`s injury woes don`t stop there as both Rory Delap and Matthew Etherington both have problems to overcome.
