Just when we thought we were going to be rid of him for good this summer, James Beattie has said that he would like to stay at the Britannia Stadium next season.
The 32 year-old has said that his rift with boss Tony Pulis is in the past and he wants to score his 100th Premier League goal for the Potters next season (he is currently on 90).
Beattie told the Daily Mail "Whatever happened between me and the manager has all been swept under the carpet now. "It`s history, we`ve moved on.
"I have heard all the reports of interest from Blackburn, Wolves, Wigan and Sheffield United, but I want to stay at Stoke and I am happy to stay.
"I know there has been interest from Championship clubs but, while I`m flattered, I want to play in the Premier League. I last played in the Championship two years ago and I don`t really want to go back.
Beattie turned down a move to Fulham in January and looks set to reject any other club that shows interest and meets Stoke`s asking price of between £1.5 and £2 million. It wasn`t long ago that Tony Pulis said that he thought it would be more than likely for Beattie to leave.
