Stoke make offer for Figueroa

Stoke City are said to have made a 7m bid for Wigan's Maynor Figueroa.

Yes, he's the one who scored from a 60 yard free-kick that left Thomas Sorensen red-faced and stranded in the 2-2 draw at the Brit last season.

The defender appears likely to be on his way out of the DW Stadium with the bidding between Liverpool and ourselves but Liverpool are rumoured to be unwilling (or unable) to match the Potters valuation for the 27 year old Honduran international.

Sunderland are another club that are said to be keen to sign him up, but the continuing animosity between Steve Bruce and his former club could make that a non-starter.
