Will Ledley be our first signing of the summer?

Joe Ledley is poised to be the Potters first signing of the summer - if the rumours are to be believed.

The Welsh international has been a target for Tony Pulis for three years now and it now seems likely that he's going to finally land the 23 year old who is out of contract at Cardiff City. The writing was on the wall that he'd finally move away from his home club this summer after Cardiff's failure to gain promotion via the play-offs - despite a goal from Ledley.

There are several reports doing the rounds that he's been up at the Brit this week in contract talks and so it could be that he'll be signed up by the end of the week.

There had been talk of a late bid from Celtic for Ledley, but the lure of Premier League football may have persuaded Ledley to stay in the English game. We'll still have to fork out around 1m for him as Cardiff are due compensation because of his age. If he was to move to Scotland, the Welsh club would get nothing for the player that been with them for the past 13 years.

He could be a good signing for you and is a player with some scope still for improvement.
