Reid goes and Sorensen returns

Stoke's assistant manager, Peter Reid is the new boss of Plymouth Argyle and Thomas Sorensen is on the plane back from the World Cup.

It has seemed fairly inevitable all week that Reid would be packing his bags and travelling south to manage the newly relegated League 1 club. The media are speculating that Tony Pulis may turn again to Dave Kemp who will be recalled from his current role as our scout in North and South America.

Another person who is packing his bags (but reluctantly and travelling north this time) is the Potters' keeper, Thomas Sorensen. Our sole representative at this year's World Cup was on the receiving end of two stunning free kicks from Japan as Denmark went down 3-1 yesterday, leaving them third in Group E.
