Hill backs return of Pulis

Hill backs return of Pulis

Stoke City defender, Clint Hill has come out in support of the possible return of Tony Pulis to the Britannia Stadium.

He told BBC Radio Stoke that he thought it would be good news if Pulis was to return for the second term and that with the right financial support this time around the club could move forward with Pulis in control.

Hill was signed from Oldham for £100,000 by Pulis in summer 2004 and went on to win 'Player of the Season' in May 2005 before being sidelined for the first half of last season through injury.

He also voiced concerns in the dressing room that any delay in the appointment of a new manager creates anxiety amongst players that believe that they might not be a part of any new manager's plans and that Stoke could miss opportunities to sign new players in the vital pre-season transfer window.

Pulis still remains the Potters' number one target and are hoping talks with Plymouth Argyle can be resolved this week.

There way things are going both teams will get fed up and he won't be the manager of either.

Oh dear, that's a bad sign when the players feel obliged to come out in support.

Hill was always a Pulis fan (Pulis signed him up) and must be the only one not on his hols at the moment as he is being quoted left, right and centre on several topics.

Of course a defender will want him back. Anyone playing pulis' system doesn't need skill at the back. Just a big hoof, to get it over the half way line.
