Sonko to face Stoke for Tigers?

Ibrahima Sonko may yet line up against his own club in Saturday's match at the Brit.

Even though Hull signed Sonko on a season long loan he was forced to kick his heels by their former boss, Phil 'Tango' Brown and hasn't played since October but, having been given a fresh chance by their 'Football Consultant' Iain Dowie, shined in last weekend's 2-0 win over Fulham.

Tony Pulis now has to decide whether to allow him to play against the Potters when the Tigers travel to the Brit on Easter Saturday.

I'd certainly be surprised if permission is granted. It's standard practice for loan players not to be permitted to play against their own club and after his good performance last weekend we should be ensuring that we don't give the visitors any unnecessary advantage - perceived or otherwise.

I must admit I thought the rule in the Premiership was that loan players could not play for their parent club, not that the parent club could decide whether they could.

The decision was taken away from the clubs, it would be against Premier League and FA rules for a loan player to play against his parent club, so it's a non starter.

Hull will be up for this one, desperate for the points, Stoke save and nothing really to aim for, those ahead are too far.
