Wolves enter Beattie talks

Well it is about time really that this happened. Wolves have today entered talks with Stoke about the possible signing of James Beattie.

The 31 year old has wanted to get out ever since the bust-up with Pulis back in December, after the defeat to Arsenal, and now Wolves looks set to give him a lifeline.

The rumour mil has been going crazy, with clubs ranging from Liverpool to Middlesbrough reportedly 'set to sign` the former England international. But now, as expected, things are starting to happen.

A deal hasn`t yet been done but it has always been a matter of time that James was going to leave ever since his shocking display against York in the FA Cup, and his exclusion from the squad to face Liverpool.

As far I and most other fans are concerned, it is a good thing. As long as we get a fair price (somewhere between £2.5 mil to £4mil is expected) then we should cash in and get someone else.

Beatts has served his purpose, which was simply to score enough goals to keep Stoke up. Now as we start becoming a more established Premier League club, let`s go and buy a better and more accomplished replacement that is going to take the club forward.

is it really such a good idea to let someone go to a rival - especially a striker with much to prove? Try and sell him to galatasary, serious - do us both a favour
