Shawcross recommended to Mancini

Shawcross recommended to Mancini

Stoke centre-back Ryan Shawcross has been recommended to Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini it is being reported this morning by the Sunday Mirror.

Mancini is desperate to bring a couple of defenders this window as Kolo Toure is now apart of the Ivory Coast squad for the African cup of Nations and Joleon Lescott is injured.

A list of Italian`s playing in Serie A has been drawn up but a club insider has told Mancini to look closer to home. The insider said "We`ve been linked with several players, but we should be looking for somebody who can defend and get his head on the ball, Ryan Shawcross is that type of player."
Shawcross has been linked with clubs such as Liverpool and Manchester United over the past few months. Stoke however have quashed the rumours saying they wont sell but City`s amount of money may just be too much to turn down. Let`s hope City look elsewhere for now.

Unless Man C put in a stupid bid Man U will go and exercise their right of first refusal (as in Ryan's contract) so he won't be going anywhere imho as Fergie won't let him go to Eastlands.
