Huth will miss Villa clash

Huth will miss Villa clash

Stoke defender Robert Huth will miss Saturday`s Premier League clash with Aston Villa through suspension.

The German international picked up his 5th booking of the season against Wigan last weekend in controversial circumstances after he fouled Jordi Gomez conceding a penalty, even though Gomez looked to be two or three yards offside.

This means that Tony Pulis will have an easy decision to make in defence for the game at Villa Park. Danny Collins is likely to return to the side at left back which will mean that Andy Wilkinson should switch to his favoured position of right-back to fill in for Huth.

The 25 year-old has become a cult hero at the Britannia following his £6million record signing from Middlesbrough in the summer. His resilient displays while playing out of position at right-back have shored up the defence, and over the course of the season he has helped make it one of the most imposing in the country.

Huth will only serve a one match ban and is likely return for the Boxing Day clash at Manchester City.
