The Potters rumour mill

The Potters rumour mill

With the season over and all the uncertainty around regarding the owners and manager, it's not surprising that rumours abound. So here at Vital Stoke we attempt to pick the juiciest for you to enjoy…..
(Please remember to preface all these stories with 'reported' and 'allegedly'!)

1. Sam Bangoura is to be a summer target for Israeli club Beitar Jerusalem.

2. Johan Boskamp has had approaches from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem. Although Stoke Chairman, Gunnar Gislason is not ruling out offering the out of contract manager another contract if the Icelanders don’t sell out to Coates.

3. One-time Burnley manager Stan Ternent has thrown his hat into the ring for the “vacant” manager’s job.

4. Player of the Season, Carl Hoefkens says that he wants to stay at Stoke IF he thinks the eventual owners have the ambition to take the club into the Premiership.

5. The Icelandic majority shareholders are holding a board meeting on Thursday to decide whether they wish to accept Peter Coates’s revised offer(s).

6. Another group may have entered the fray to buy the club. Reports from Iceland state that a Norwegian consortium have "expressed interest", although no offer has been received.
