Just when you thought it was just Stoke fans that the police in the North-West had it in for, just spare a (small) thought for Burnley fans.
Whilst Greater Manchester police have again been exercising Stoke fans' incredulity with their apparent, blatant heavy handed tactics before the Bolton match last week, it's nothing to what Blackburn and Burnley fans are going to be subjected this season when the local rivals meet in the Premier League.
Lancashire police have created a situation that Staffordshire police would be proud of should the Potters and the Vale ever again meet on the football field.
For the first of the two matches between the clubs on Sunday, October 18th, Burnley fans will only be able to get to the match at Ewood Park on the official coaches. This applies even if you live within spitting distance of the Blackburn ground, which due to the short distance between the two towns applies to many Burnley fans who just happen to live in Blackburn. Also, Burnley fans are being subjected to an incredibly early start. They have to be at Turf Moor ready to depart at 10.15am for the match which kicks off at 1pm and the journey takes only 15 minutes!
Understandably fans on both sides of the Lancashire divide are up in arms at this draconian bit of policing, especially as Blackburn fans know it'll be the same for them later in the season.
