Arismendi set for Potters debut

New Potters signing Diego Arismendi will make his debut for the club when he lines up against Blackpool in the Carling Cup 3rd round tie at the Britannia Stadium, Tony Pulis has confirmed.

There has been much excitement circulating amongst Stoke supporters when we will see our foreign import any time soon and it now seems that our wish has been granted

The £2.5 million pound signing has impressed Pulis and assistant Peter Reid during his two reserve games and the City boss thinks Diego could be a big star in the future, "Diego is strong and good on the ball. He's looked after himself with no problems in training and we might just have found a very good player"

Encouraging words then from the former Portsmouth manager and we may now be forgiven for watching in anticipation and expectation come Tuesday night.

The visit of the Tangerines will also give TP and hopefully a few other clubs a chance to get a better look at some of our fringe players. Starts for Steve Simonsen, Leon Cort, Carl Dickinson, Danny Pugh and Michael Tonge can be expected as we look to progress to the dizzy heights of the 4th round.

Players and staff are already so excited about our rare success that Rory Delap has already stated he believes we are destined for a trip to Wembley.

Surely not…………………….
