Diao to stay at Stoke?

Salif Diao is reported to be ready to sign a new one year contract after it had been rumoured that he was ready to turn his back on the Potters.

It was said that the Senegal international was originally unhappy with just the single year that was on offer and was looking elsewhere. Whilst many fans regard the 32 year old central midfielder as too slow for the Premier League, it's known that Tony Pulis is still an admirer.

Whether that influenced his decision or it's simply down to a lack of a better offer from elsewhere, he'll still be a useful player to have in the squad, even if he struggles to improve on the 18 games he started last season.
