Stoke to target Scholes in summer move?

Stoke to target Scholes in summer move?

Can Stoke City entice Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes away from Old Trafford?

That's the intriguing question that the Daily Mail reckons could be on the cards as the 34 year old winds down his footballing career.

They're reporting that Scholes has been offered a player/coach deal as he starts to study for his coaching badges and it could be an ideal partnership with the midfielder reported to want one more season in the Premier League before moving into a full-time coaching or management role.

A couple of pluses for the Potters are that Tony Pulis seems on good terms with Scholes' irascible Scottish boss with several deals done between the two clubs in recent years and it would not mean an upheaval for Scholes and his family.

Exciting times - but just the first salvo in what could be an interesting summer off the pitch.

Like Gary Neville and Giggs, he's a one club man.

I don't think there's any chance you'll be able to get him as a player coach. He's always said he'll end his playing days with the Rags... Audacious bid though...
