Stability for Stoke?

Stability for Stoke?

It appears from reports coming from Stoke City's Icelandic owners that Johan Boskamp will be offered a new contract very shortly or his existing one extended. Boskamp has already said that he intends to fly to Iceland for a meeting with the Chairman, Gunnar Gislason on Monday to sort out players' budgets for next season, whilst Gislason has stated that he understands that Boskamp would accept a new contract if one was offered.

This season has been very messy off the field and I think most fans will be glad to see the matter settled once and for all.

Of course, all this could be immaterial if Stoke director, Peter Coates has his offer to buy the club accepted by the Icelandics.
Iceland is currently facing difficult financial conditions with rising interest rates and foreign exchange problems. This could force them to sell the club at a lower price than they otherwise would wish to.

Coates has already made it known that he would remove Boskamp, who has installed last Summer without the approval of the English minority shareholders, if he regains control of the club.
