Zola arrives at Stoke

Zola arrives at Stoke

New signing and Republic of Congo international, Zola Matumona, has joined the Potters for a weeks training.

Zola, although the signing is still subject to a successful application for a work permit, has agreed to join the Potters from the start of next season.

He started off his visit by watching Stoke's 1-1 draw with Sheffield United at the weekend before getting down to some training with his possible new teammates today.

It was revealed that the French club, Marseilles were also interested in signing the 22 year old midfielder who had impressed during the African Cup of Nations in Egypt back in February. But Zola said that he wanted to play in England and had discussed the move with fellow Congo international and Portsmouth player, Lua Lua before committing himself to the Potters.
