Stoke: are the media building us up for a fall?

Stoke: are the media building us up for a fall?

Stoke City suddenly seem to have become the national media's flavour of the month.

John Cross's column in the Mirror is a case in point - click here for the link.

Alan Hansen also deeply worried me with his comments on Match of the Day last Saturday - 'I'm Stoke City's biggest fan...' - somehow I can't see him hotfooting it down to the Brit for many matches and all the earlier positive comments he must have made passed me by. While it's gratifying to see a neutral say some nice things about the Potters, it does worry me as well that they're setting us up for a fall. Any Potters' fan will tell you that we prefer the underdog tag - we always seem to play far better when the pressure is on someone else.

Hopefully we can keep the great home form going and pick up a point or three at West Brom next week as I'm still looking forward to proving a certain Mr. Paddy Power wrong come the end of May.

It should be three easy points against the baggies, and I would not take any notice of the press if they paid me the bunch of morons.
