Beattie is latest Stoke target

James Beattie is reported to have been discussing personal terms at the Brit, but it's too late for a deal to be done ahead of the weekend clash with Liverpool.

Stoke have apparently had a £2.5m bid for the 30 year old accepted by Sheffield United but torturous negotiations are likely to delay any chance of a final agreement until next week.

Tony Pulis had been hoping to land the striker before tomorrow's difficult match with the League leaders at the Brit as Stoke struggle for numbers in attack with Fuller suspended, Sidibe injured and Kitson only just returning from an injury lay-off.

So it looks like winger, Matthew Etherington will be the sole new signing on display at the Brit for tomorrow's televised late afternoon kick-off.

Well my source says it's complete. £2.5 million is the price and i think Cresswell is heading off to the Sty!!?
will it ever happen
Are Sheffield United that desperate? £2.5m is a bargain, he'd be a good signing for you. He was massively frustrating at Everton though! Given so many opportunities to impress and spurned every single one with lazy showings and poor finishing.

what a ******** joke!! the blades board said nothing less the 6m would seal a move

Beattie will be good for the Potters. Hopefully Etherington will also provide some service for Kitson as well.
BoothenP
apparantlly kitson is coming to the lane as part of the beattie deal, not creswell
bladesforlife1889
look at the say wendy fan - will it ever happen' - clutching at straws - just because we are the bigger club no need to jump on the band waggon piggy!!
bladesforlife1889
and there was I thinking Blades were a team with ambition!
merlin
tell us about it.
bladesforlife1889
apparantly the figure branded around today is 6m!! that is beatties market value not 2.5m. its like saying we will have kitson for 2m now, when you guys paid 5.5m for hime - thing is too he aint scoring you the goals like beattie is for us and he's injury prone!!
bladesforlife1889
his market value is not £6 million, u make up random things constantly bluntforlife, hes 30 year old fair play he scores alot but how many are pens?? and hes in the 2nd tier THINK ABOUT IT, who are you to decide james beatties market value
smiggyswfc
well would you sell beevers for 1m? you nob sack!!
bladesforlife1889
ive got stoke to go down so for beattie to move to you guys would be a bad move + we are now 4th and are going to strengthen this transfer window, so a good chance if beats does go he could be eating humble pie as we stand a dam good chance of going up at least through the playoffs!! we are most likely to swap places come may.
