Bad news for Reggae Boyz is good for Potters

Bad news for Reggae Boyz is good for Potters

Ricardo Fuller and Demar Phillips both played in Jamaica's 3-0 win over Canada in the World Cup Qualifiers but it wasn't enough to see them through to the next round.

The Reggae Boyz also had to hope that Mexico would quash Honduras, but that was not to be the case with Honduras beating Sven Goren Eriksson's Mexicans 1-0.

The good news now for Stoke is that there will far fewer trips to Jamaica for the international striker. Had they gone through to the final phase of the CONCACAF qualifiers starting next February, it would have left us seriously lightweight up front ahead of the important run-in to the end of the season with the extra ten games and travelling.

As it is, Ric is suspended for the visit of West Brom to the Brit, but as he's not returning to the UK until today, then he is unlikely to have been given a starting position and would have been on the bench.

so would it be good if england didnt make it to the world cup 2?? i hate that kinda view , Jamaica and other smaller footballing nation needs the exposure of the world cup to promote the game. As should a team the size of Stoke have more than 1 striker

What's your problem Ossie?? No one is saying that we're pleased that Jamaica are out, but every cloud has a silver lining and in this case it means that Fuller will be able to start for Stoke more. We have more than one striker - it's just that he's the only one who seems to be able to get the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis.
