Stoke: The luck of the Irish eludes Lawrence

Stoke: The luck of the Irish eludes Lawrence

Liam Lawrence has injured himself tripping over his dog and may miss Sunday's match against Portsmouth.

Luck has obviously eluded this particular Irishman who missed training yesterday after the bizarre accident on Monday morning. He has injured his ankle but there is not thought to be anything broken and a scan today should reveal the extent of the injury, but it's to be hoped that he'll be fit for Sunday's trip to Fratton Park.

With Rory Delap missing Saturday's visit of Chelsea after pulling a hamstring during Friday's training session, Tony Pulis will be hoping that no more players try and do anything too dangerous ahead of the Portsmouth match.

When you consider that we are playing a tough match in Portugal on Thursday night & we have our best player, Diarra, suspended, you just may play us at very good time for you.
