Stoke rumour mill - 11 hours to go

With just eleven hours to go to the transfer window closes until January 1st we take a look at what could be happening.

It's all quiet at the moment at the Brit, but Stoke's Ivory Coast target, Kanga Akala is reported to be off to Spanish side, Recreativo Huelva on a season long loan if the Potters can't get a deal together today. The player would prefer a move to the Premier League and seems to be hanging on in hope that the move can still happen.

Ipswich's Jon Walters is still at Portman Road with their club chairman denying that we've made any offer for their 'player of the season'. But reports coming out of his old club, Chester City (who would be in line for a 20% sell-on fee), seem to indicate that the Tractor Boys may be set to lose their star player. In the absence of any other deals, we think this is one that could happen.

Jermaine Pennant (pictured) is still being linked to us as Rafa Benitez is reported to have told him that he will never play for the first team again this season if he remains at Liverpool and should look at moving to either Stoke or Blackburn Rovers.

Glenn Whelan could be on his way out after being linked to a loan move to Plymouth Argyle after falling down the pecking order at the Brit.
