Parkin to join Preston
Jon 'The Beast' Parkin is joining Preston in a £500,000 deal claims The Sentinel.
The former Hull player joined Stoke a year ago in a £300,000 deal after a short but successful loan spell the season before, but never came up to Tony Pulis' exacting fitness levels and found any opportunities other than as a late substitute 'impact' player hard to come by. His most memorable moment came when he narrowly failed to score towards the end of the FA Cup home match against Newcastle last season, which would have sent the Toon army tumbling out of the cup.
If this report is confirmed, it will not be bad business, showing a tidy profit for a fringe player in just over a year.
