Stoke finalise pre-season schedule

Stoke City have finalised their pre-season schedule with two games planned against Championship and Spanish opposition.

Southampton and the Spanish La Liga side, Osasuna are the latest to be be lined up to test the Potters' Premier League credentials ahead of the season starting in earnest on Saturday August 16th.

The full pre-season schedule is as follows:

Thursday 10th July - First team return to training
Friday 18th July: Newcastle Town (Lyme Valley Stadium) kick-off: 6.45pm
Saturday 19th July: Travel to Austria
Saturday 26th July: Return from Austria
Tuesday 29th July: Notts County (away) kick-off 7.45pm
Saturday 2nd August: Shrewsbury Town (away) kick-off: 3pm
Tuesday 5th August: Southampton (away) kick-off: 7.45pm
Friday 8th August: Osasuna (home) kick-off: 7.45pm

The Potters are still hoping to line up a couple of friendlies whilst at their training camp in Austria. Last summer they played against Real Madrid in Irdning, where they put up a very creditable performance against the Spanish champions - just going down 1-0 to a goal from Raul. The match came just after Fabio Capello had been sacked as boss at the Bernabeu - now whatever happened to him?

The Osasuna game should be a good test for you ahead of the Premiership season.
