Is Ameobi having second thoughts on Potters move?

Reports from Tyneside are indicating that Shola Ameobi may be having second thoughts about a permanent move to Stoke after our promotion to the Premier League after he said that he is missing life in the North East.

Certainly, if the move does break down it will upset both Tony Pulis and Kevin Keegan. Keegan had been looking forward to the £4m to strengthen his own team after both clubs agreed that the deal would go through if Stoke got promotion.

But many Stoke fans would question whether he is the right player for the Potters after he did little to set the Brit alight during his short loan spell. He suffered an injury during the win at Coventry and then had to sit out the remainder of the season on the bench, just coming on for a few minutes at the end of matches.

In his defence, he never really had a chance to get match fit after being out of the Toon Army's plans for most of the season and also failing to have a chance to get into his stride at Stoke.

What do you think, should we be signing Ameobi or are there better players for the money? Vote in our new poll.
