Jay stays, Rooney stays away

Stoke have confirmed that Jay Bothroyd will be staying at the Brit for the remainder of the season and fellow striker, Adam Rooney (pictured) will be remaining on loan at Bury until May.

Wolves have agreed to allow Bothroyd to stay the Brit and he will be eligible for the play-off should that be necessary. With doubt still surrounding the fitness of Shola Ameobi after he limped off with a possible hamstring injury, Stoke need all the fit strikers they can muster for the all important run-in.

Meanwhile, Adam Rooney will be staying at Gigg Lane until the end of the season, he has made 14 appearances for the League 2 side and scored three goals in the process.
