Stoke make late move for Nugent

Stoke are reported to have made a late bid for the services of Portsmouth striker, David Nugent.

Nugent appears to be on his way to Ipswich after Harry Redknapp had agreed to the striker's loan move to East Anglia, but since the deal does not yet appear to have been struck, the Potters seem to be making a last minute move.

There's no doubt that Nugent will not come cheap, but there's also little doubt that we could do with a so-called 'impact player' at the Brit as the team struggle to maintain their good form on the back of two defeats in the last seven days.

Whether it's too late to prise him away from the grip of the Tractor Boys remains to be seen, but it's thought that the former Preston player may be keener on a move back north rather than the flatlands of Suffolk.

If he's fit enough??? Let's hope so, I've seen enough players come to Stoke in the past carrying knocks and not getting on the pitch. Pretty pointless if we don't play him because of injury! All the same, if David Nugent can help push us to the Prem, I'll be one of thousands of very happy, very greatful Stokies.
