Stoke stay top of the League

Stoke City remain in the Championship top spot after Watford were held to a 2-2 draw with Charlton.

Stoke's great comeback against Scunthorpe on Friday night made them the Championship leaders and although Watford had a chance to reclaim the number one position they could only draw at the Valley to move into second position on goal difference.

Now it's all down to see how Bristol City get on in their home match with Crystal Palace on Monday night. Unless Bristol City beat Neil Warnock's side, Stoke will have a chance to consolidate their leadership position with next weekend's clash with Ipswich at the Britannia Stadium.

Heady times indeed for Stoke fans!

well sometimes in football it seems as though some teams get what they really don't deserve. Stoke play a very unattractive brand of football and one which might gain success in the championship but won't get yourselves anywhere in the premiership. Derby found that out to their cost.

Another jealous monkey that can't stand giving praise where praise is due. We're top 3/4 of the way through the season and have as good a chance as anyone to get up to the Prem, we're TOP...OF...THE...LEAGUE. Probably a better chance than most of doing it actually...... I'll tell you summat mate, I for one couldn't give a toss how we do it and I'll bet there's 1000's of other Stokies feeling the same way.... So, to cut a long post short......................................................................................................... GO ON STOKE, MAKE THE REST OF THEM SICK AND STAY THERE AT THE TOP :)

well...you might get promoted but you won't stay up in the premiership with the team you currently possess. I hate to say it but teams like Stoke will never become an established premiership side.

None of the teams at the top of the championship will stay up in the prem.

Miked_Joker: Maybe you're right, maybe you're not. But what club would turn down the chance to have a try? If you're going to be a successful club at either Prem or Champ level you must first get your hands on the Premier League millions.
